"Cellar Door" | Driving through farm country you come around a bend in the road, and you see this lonely clapboard house. A lone tree afforded it some shade in summer—when those weeds grew tall and rangy— before inevitable autumn came and stole its leaves. This is a SUPER limited edition, because I have already moved on to the next state and added aquatint.
This is an intaglio etching print made from a copper plate on which I used line etching to create the image. You will receive a print from a very small limited edition, signed and dated by me— There are only 6 of these and can never be any more because I since have changed the plate (see Cellar Door in Snow)
There are subtle shifts in tonality due to the process of being hand-inked, hand-wiped, and hand-rolled through the press. So, it will look very much like the pictures, but not exactly— the last photo shows some of said variation. It is NOT a digital print. It will ship flat with cardboard backing, in a cellophane sleeve.
SPECS:
These are printed on BFK Rives Printmaking Paper, White, 250 gsm
The ink used was a mixture of vine black and burnt umber, so it's a soft black color.
The image area is 7" x 7"
The paper is 11" x 11" (ruler-torn, not cut)
I recommend having the print matted to help the paper lie flat in the frame. Also a matted print just looks more finished.
SHIPPING is free in the continental USA only.
